Welcome to the website for FutureAge Care. FutureAge Care has been in operation since 2005 and is a Christian-based organisation that provides a range of services to aged care consumers, healthcare providers and disability care communities. Our focus is lifestyle and leisure - Diversional Therapy - and additional support therapies for residential aged care and adult healthcare consumers.

Our services include: music, sound and multisensory enrichment programs for adults and the elderly, Pastoral Care and consulting and training in activities, pain and depression interventions for healthcare staff.

Our resources are used by Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists and Activity Coordinators, Nursing Staff, Pastoral Care Teams, individuals and organisations providing education and training.

We are contracted to provide services for Government, charitable and private organisations. Our clients include Alzheimer’s Australia, TAFE library (Nursing Studies), Uniting Care Ageing, INsite Newspaper, the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney and Lighthouse Health Group. FutureAge Care was the recipient of the 2005 Research Grant Award from Victoria University for our Marketplace (working lifestyles) innovative program. We enjoy communicating through our website, e-Newsletters (Empower) and networking via twitter and we invite you to browse our webpages and take advantage of these electronic tools to help support you in your working role. We provide diversional therapy material to Australia's aged care newspaper INsite, with an activities poster covering a range of themed activity ideas in each issue.

new resources now available

Pathfinder college-style activity courses for activity coordinators to run with residents. Our new Pathfinder© College Courses are for people living in residential aged care, dementia specific homes and for those attending day centre activities.

Similar to College and other learning style courses, Pathfinder presents a series of purposeful and structured activities to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The course creators are experienced in running these programs with clients themselves - so you can be guaranteed that the activities and techniques are suitable for the aged care environment and for facilitating with residents with dementia.

Our aim is to take your residents on a stimulating journey through a series of 8-10 activity course sessions, with a graduation and certificates of participation at the end of your course, during the final session. Activities can then be continued and developed into ongoing programs or the course can begin again with new participants.

Course themes include seated Yoga, Fun, Food and Nutrition. Pathfinder Courses are designed for aged care and dementia care environments, with groups of up to 12 residents, plus your nominated staff facilitator (and 2nd support person where possible). Each course consists of 8-10 sessions of simple, achievable activities to enhance cognition, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, creative energy and opportunities for self-expression among residents.

Pathfinder Courses come complete with everything you need to lead each session: A Facilitator’s Manual, Course Certificates, a Documenting Journal, DVD and CD or book (resources may vary with each course). Pathfinder takes your group on a journey that provides a sense of future, wellbeing and refreshing experiences to enjoy together. The way forward in innovative lifestyle and leisure!
